Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.
Matthew 26:26-28 (NLT)
Application:
There are two sacraments, Holy Communion and Baptism. A sacrament is an outward sign of an inward divine work. In Holy Communion the bread we eat and the wine we drink symbolize Jesus’ body and blood given for us.
Luke 22:20, Jesus tells us that the cup is the “new covenant in My blood” and the Apostle Paul tells us that the Blood of Jesus forgives sins (Colossians 1:14; Ephesians 1:7).
While Jesus was on earth He was amazing, healthy, and full of life. For us, He gave His body to be broken and beaten and then torn on the Cross. On the Cross He took our sickness, disease, regret, shame, guilt, and sin. Why? So we can have abundant life, life to fullest, forgiven and whole. Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24 says by His stripes we are healed.
Sometimes we can all struggle with healing but there is a truth here that I pray we see… God is a just God, He is a God of order. If we are healed on earth or in Heaven- there is still a price for that healing and Jesus has paid the price. The sin had to be atoned for regardless of where we receive the blessing.
At Into The Harvest Ministries we believe that Jesus is spiritually present in the bread and the wine. EVERYTIME we come to The Table, at ITH, we aim to learn a new truth about Holy Communion. Today we recognize that when we come to The Table we receive the promises that are made to us in faith because of the work of Jesus on The Cross.
           What promises?
    1. Forgiveness of sins (Matthew 26:28)
    2. We are One Body; RELATIONSHIP (1 Corinthians 10:16-17)
    3. Nourishment (John 6:35)
    4. Strength, Growth, Perseverance, and Life (John 6:53-58)
Our decision to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior is the best decision EVER! Having a healthy body and mind comes in right behind salvation. The Table is Gods avenue to healing and wholeness in our triune being (spirit, soul, and body).
As we come to The Table we come aware of the Body of Christ and His love and tremendous thought toward us. He was willing for His body to be broken for our wholeness and His blood to be shed for our forgiveness. Wow!
This amazing love from Jesus gives us right standing before God, and we can now go boldly into Gods presence (Hebrews 4:16).
Prayer: Thank You, Jesus for the sacrifice You gave for us. We can live whole and forgiven because of Your great love for us and obedience to our Father. Open our eyes more and more each time we come to Your Table and soften our hearts more and more to Your love for us. We love You, Jesus. Amen.

We are strongly encouraging you to RSVP by February 15th for this event (see Shandra). All ITH ladies of all ages are invited to attendDoctrine of the Trinity in the Bible- A Summary

I. Hints of the Trinity in the Old Testament
Plural Expressions of God
A. The primary Hebrew name for God, Elohim, is grammatically plural. While it is
almost always paired with singular verbs indicating a single being. Its plural
form allows for the concept of “plurality within unity”
B. The Divine “US”. On several key occasions, God refers to Himself using plural
pronouns. In Genesis 1:26, He says “Let is make man in “our” image.” Similar
phrasing appears in Genesis 11:7 and Isaiah 6:8.

Distinctions Within the Godhead
Certain passages present two or more persons who are both identified as God
or Lord.

A. Psalm 110:1 “The Lord says to my Lord: ‘Sit at my right hand…’ “Jesus later
used this verse to imply the divine relationship between the Messiah and the
Father.
B. Isaiah 48:16 This verse is often cited as a rare triadic formula in the Old
Testament: “And now the Lord God has sent me (messiah speaking) and His
Spirit.” Here three distinct subjects are mentioned: the Sender (the Father), the
Sent (Son/Messiah), and the Spirit.
C. Genesis 1:1-2 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth…and
the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” The Holy Spirit was present in
the act of creation.
D. Wisdom: In Proverbs 8, Wisdom is personified as a distinct being who was
present with God before the world began, acting as a master workman beside
Him. See John 1:1-3, 14.

While the Old Testament maintains a fierce commitment to monotheism
(Deuteronomy
6:4), these nuances suggest that the “oneness” of God is a compound unity rather
than a
simple singularity.
Other Hints
A. The Three Visitors in Genesis 18
B. The Promised child/Messiah in Isaiah 9:6 is called “The Mighty God”.
C. The Cloud Rider in Daniel 7 is referred to as “Like the Son of Man” approaches the
Ancient of Days & is given everlasting dominion and receives worship.
D. The Three-fold pattern: The Priestly Blessing Numbers 6:24-26, The Seraphim’s
Cry in Isaiah 6:3 “Holy, Holy, Holy”

II. The Trinity in the New Testament

A. Jesus exercised Divine prerogatives – forgiving sins, calming storms and
receiving worship- yet distinct from The Father. The deity of Jesus is firmly
established in John 1:1-3, 14.
B. The Deity of the Holy Spirit is seen in Acts 5:3-4 where Peter equates lying to the
Holy Spirit with lying to God.
C. Then there is the Triadic formulas and patterns where the New Testament
groups Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in ways that imply equality of essence and
unity of purpose.
a. The Baptismal Formula Matthew 28:19 Jesus commands His disciples to
baptize “in the name (singular) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit” The use of a singular “name” for three persons suggest a unified
Divine identity.
b. The Apostolic Benediction 2 Corinthians 13:14
c. The Baptism of Jesus: Matthew 3:16-17 This event serves as a visual and
auditory snapshot of the Trinity: The Son is being baptized, the Spirit
descends like a dove, and the Father speaks from heaven.
d. Salvation is often said Salvation is “From the Father, through the Son and by
the Holy Spirit.

The Book of Doctrine & Discipline Global Methodist Church states:

Article 1- Of Faith in the Holy Trinity

“There is but one living and true God, everlasting and without body or parts, of infinite power,
wisdom and goodness, the maker and preserver of all things, both visible and invisible. And in
unity of this Godhead there are three persons of one substance, power and eternity-the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Ghost.” Page 18.

Advent, waiting on Jesus, is so special because this is the only space where The One you are waiting for is waiting with you. Jesus is here and He is coming.

At ITH, specifically during our Sunday morning Hope Fellowship meetings, we are asking the question, “How are we waiting?”

Scripture: Luke 2:25-35

Take away: Simeon, who is an old man, is waiting on the coming of the Messiah to rescue Israel. He was told he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Imagine a life of waiting like that. It reminds me of Mr. Jingles, the mouse, on the movie, “The Green Mile.”

I can imagine Simeon spent the early years of his life jumping whenever he heard of a new person coming to town… but then over the years, he found a “norm” and he just lived his life and worshipped in the Temple and ministered where the Lord led. Until, “that day the Spirit led him to the Temple” (Luke 2:27).

Listen friends, when we are intimate with the Holy Spirit, we do not have to have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). In reading one of God’s promises in my Bible this morning (I have little “love notes” from God in this particular Bible) I thought this would be a great piece to share!

“I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t had to destroy the land, but I found no one” (Ezekiel 22:30).

God’s promise: I am all powerful, and I work through My people to do the impossible. Hopeful Abraham had a son. Fearful Moses set My people free. Young David killed a giant. If you say yes to all that I ask of you, you will experience the adventure of faith that your heart longs to live. Trust Me to do great things through you. I am the God of miracles. Surrender yourself to Me and watch Me do the impossible.

And then a reflection item: Can you imagine being the one person who said yes to God and had the blessing and honor of changing the course of history? (Mary!)

Think about this for a minute: God said that He “looked for someone” which means He only needs one of His children to step up. Let’s not miss the opportunity to do something great for God’s glory when He calls on us!

Song:
Mary Did You Know/Breath of Heaven https://youtu.be/qam0LYy8Qs0?si=BdbMlcLtCg0XEMg2

Message:
"For with God nothing shall be impossible" (Luke 1:37, KJV)
"For the word of God will never fail" (Luke 1:37 NLT)
Here is a quick video about Luke 1:37. https://youtube.com/shorts/kMRmP_MdaqY?si=fU9swlaJFVc1uqJj

Reflection Song:
Rest On Us https://youtu.be/0mUtFvomBVg?si=mRc2M4FjHkFVuKav

Closing Prayer:

Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus and ask that today You would send Your Spirit to move over us, rest on us, fill us, and empower Your (impossible) Word in our lives. Thank You, Abba. You have given us Your Son, Jesus, and Your Holy Spirit. WOW! We are blessed. My heart is for sure pounding… You are here and I know You are moving. We are here and I know You will fill us.
